The National Commemoration is on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Then we in the Netherlands commemorate all – civilians and military personnel – who have been killed or murdered anywhere in the world. Both during the Second World War and the colonial war in Indonesia, as well as in war situations and subsequent peace operations.
This commemoration also takes place in Hilversum. First there is a silent procession around 19.30:20.00 PM from Theater Gooiland. A delegation from the mayor and aldermen lays a wreath at the resistance monument in the Rosarium and the war monuments on Gedenkt te Sterven. At 2 p.m., XNUMX minutes of silence will be observed. We are committed to a dignified and safe commemoration. Disruptions and demonstrative expressions are not permitted at and in the immediate vicinity of the memorial locations.'
