Address inquiry

You think that someone is registered at your address even though they do not live there (anymore). Or someone has a mailing address at your address and you cannot reach that person. Then you can request an address investigation. We then find out where this person lives.

What do you need to know

  • You can request an address investigation as the owner, tenant or co-occupant of the house (with DigiD)
  • A company or organization can also request an address search (with eHerkenning)
  • We try to complete an address investigation within 12 weeks. This does not always work. If little information about the person is known, the investigation may take longer
  • With MyGovernment you can see how many people are registered at your address

What do you have to do

  • You fill in the online form with DigiD or with eHerkenning
  • Or you come to the Municipal Office. You make for this an appointment† You bring a valid ID with you

It is important that you provide as much information as possible about the person we are going to investigate:

  • Possible new address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Social media accounts
  • Information about the employer and/or family

Stop research

Have you requested an address search and do you want to stop this? This can be done in person at the counter at the Municipal Office. Make an appointment to stop the address investigation† Only the applicant for an address search can do this. Please bring a valid ID with you to the appointment.

What does it cost

An address search is free.
