Fire safety use and basic emergency assistance in other locations

If you are using a structure, such as a tent, grandstand, or stage, you may need to submit a fire safety notification for the use of other spaces and basic emergency response. For example, if the space can accommodate more than 150 people, people are staying overnight, or children or people with disabilities are present. If you have applied for an event permit, you do not need to submit a fire safety notification for the use of public spaces.

What do you need to know

You must report if you are organizing an activity with a structure (for example, a tent, grandstand or podium) or another building. You do this if 1 or more of the following applies to you:

  • It can accommodate more than 150 people
  • More than 10 people stay the night
  • More than 10 people under the age of 12 receive care
  • More than 10 people with a physical or mental disability receive care
  • If you want to arrange fire safety in a different way than in the Decree on fire-safe use and basic emergency care in other places is indicated. You must then have a solution of the same quality for fire safety

The municipality or fire brigade checks whether your event complies with the rules of the decree. If this is not the case, the municipality can give you a fine (mandatory sum).

What do you have to do

  • You report at least 4 weeks before the start of the activity
  • To do this, you send a completed reporting form to gemeente@hilversum.nl

If you have any further questions, please contact the permit shop at 14 035.

What does it cost

Making a report is free.
