Declaration of good conduct (VOG)

What do you need to know

• The employer (organisation) that needs the VOG from you will indicate how you can apply for the VOG. If your employer applies for the VOG online for you via justis, you don't have to go to the municipality
• If you have received a completed VOG application form from your employer, make an appointment at the municipality
• The Ministry of Security and Justice assesses the application
• After 2 to 4 weeks you will receive the VOG or the rejection by post
• If you are self-employed, you cannot apply for a VOG for yourself or on your behalf from the municipality. You can request this at justis
• In some cases, the organization where you are a volunteer may request a free VOG
• If you work in childminder care, you must: VOG childcare form gebruiken
• On the internet you will find commercial providers to apply for your VOG online. We recommend that you do not use it. They charge unnecessary extra costs. You will not get a VOG faster with this either
• A VOG is only available in Dutch.
• Do you want an international VOG? Then you must have the VOG translated by a sworn translator

What do you have to do

If you have received a completed VOG application form from your employer, make an appointment at the municipality.

Pack

• Completed VOG application form (usually provided by your employer)
• Valid ID
• Money (cash or pin)
• If you are applying for someone else, please also bring a letter of consent and a copy of the applicant's valid ID

Authorization

You can give someone else permission to apply for (authorize) a VOG for you.

• The authorized representative must be of legal age
• The authorized representative has a letter with your permission
• You both sign this letter
• The authorized representative has a valid proof of identity and a copy of your valid proof of identity
