Extract from the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP)

An extract from the Personal Records Database (BRP) is proof that you live in Hilversum. This contains your name, address, place of birth and date of birth. For example, you can also have your previous residential addresses or nationality written on it. You can request it online or by appointment.

What do you need to know

  • You can request an extract from the BRP in the municipality where you live
  • It is important that you clearly state what you need the extract for. Then the municipality can make an extract that contains the correct data
  • An extract from BRP is different from a copy of civil status† A copy of the civil registry contains data on birth, death, marriage and divorce. You can request this from the municipality where the event took place

Extract for yourself or someone else

You can request a BRP extract for:

  • yourself
  • Your husband, wife or registered partner, who lives at the same address (name, address and place of residence only)
  • Your child (younger than 18), who lives at the same address
  • Someone who has given you permission for this (authorize)

What do you have to do

You can request a BRP extract in various ways:

  • Online (with DigiD): you will receive the extract by post after 3 to 5 working days
  • By appointment: you make an appointment and come to the Municipal Office. You will receive the extract immediately. Please bring the following to your appointment:
    • Valid ID
    • Money (cash or pin)
    • If you are applying for someone else, please also bring a letter of consent and a copy of the applicant's valid ID

Authorization

You can give someone else permission to request (authorize) a BRP extract for you.

  • The authorized representative must be of legal age
  • The authorized representative has a letter with your permission
  • You write a letter. You both sign this letter
  • The authorized representative has a valid proof of identity and a copy of your valid proof of identity

International BRP

Do you need an international extract from the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP)? Then we ask you to make an appointment, an application for an international BRP cannot be submitted online.
