A guarantee or accommodation may be necessary if you are visited by someone from abroad. This is necessary for a visa. You must then guarantee costs or debts incurred by the visitor in the Netherlands. Or you must report that this person is staying with you.

In the case of a guarantee
- If you are a married couple and you are receiving 3 visitors, you make 6 appointments. You must both sign each document. This is not necessary for accommodation.
- If you are single and have 3 visitors, make 3 appointments.
What do you need to know
- A guarantee means that you are responsible for costs or debts incurred by the visitor in the Netherlands
- Providing accommodation means that your foreign guest will stay in your home during their stay in the Netherlands
What do you have to do
- Check out the website of the Central government for the conditions
- fill it Proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation form in, but don't sign it yet. You do this during an appointment with the municipality
- You must complete 1 form per guest who comes to the Netherlands
- Make an appointment at the municipality, please note:
- If you are a married couple and you are receiving 3 visitors, you must make 6 agreements for a guarantee. You must both sign each document. This is not necessary for the provision of accommodation.
- If you are single and have 3 visitors, make 3 appointments.
- Bring the completed form, your proof of identity and debit card with you to the appointment
- Put your signature on the form in which the municipal official is present
- The municipal official states in a statement that the signature is yours (legalize signature)
- Send the form to your visitor from abroad. Watch closely which documents you need to send
