Our wedding officers
- Would you like to meet the wedding officials of Hilversum? Then read their personal story the online notification of marriage or registered partnership
- Indicate your choice for one of our marriage officers when reporting a proposed marriage or partnership. You will then hear as soon as possible whether the wedding registrar is available. The wedding registrar will contact you approximately 2 weeks in advance. In preparation for the speech during the ceremony
Marriage officer from another municipality
You can also choose a marriage officer from a municipality other than Hilversum.
- This wedding official is already a wedding official in another municipality
- This wedding registrar will then be appointed as an extraordinary registrar of births, marriages and deaths (babs) in the municipality of Hilversum for your wedding day (marriage registrar for 1 day)
- you do the application online, after you have agreed your wedding day and wedding location with us
- The application must be made at least 6 weeks before the wedding day
- You pay extra for this
You must enclose the following documents with the online application:
- Copy of valid ID of the official
- Copy of the appointment decision of the council of the municipality where the marriage registrar is appointed
- Copy of official report of swearing in at the court of the marriage registrar
- Authorization (pdf, 966 kB) from the wedding officiant
Wedding official for 1 day
You can also choose a wedding officiant who has not yet been appointed and sworn in. For example, a family member or acquaintance.
- Is at least 18 years old
- Is not under supervision (curatee)
- Was requested by you (the bridal couple)
- Will only be appointed and sworn in for your marriage on this precise date
- you do the application online, after you have agreed your wedding day and wedding location with us
- The application must be made at least 4 months before the wedding day
- You pay extra for this
You must enclose the following documents with the online application:
- Copy of valid proof of identity of the desired wedding official
- Extract from the Personal Records Database (BRP), not older than 3 months of the desired marriage official
- Authorization (pdf, 966 kB) from your wedding official for 1 day
If the application is complete and the person is not supervised, the court will be sworn in. The desired wedding officiant must be present in person. The municipality makes this appointment.
The municipality will send a copy of the appointment decision and a copy of the copy of the swearing-in ceremony to the couple and the wedding registrar.
What does it cost
- Wedding official Hilversum municipality: already included in the costs of the ceremony
- Marriage officer from another municipality: € 200,00
- Other (for example, family member or acquaintance): € 300,00
This amount is without the costs for the documents and without the costs for the ceremony. You pay in the online application.
A wedding officiant from another municipality or a wedding officiant for 1 day is not paid by the municipality of Hilversum.
