Wage subsidy

You are an employer and you employ someone with an occupational disability. Then you may be able to receive compensation. This is called a wage subsidy. This is possible if that person is in the target group register and is entitled to a job appointment.

What do you need to know

  • You have or employ someone who has an illness or disability. This employee cannot work at the same speed or in the same manner as an employee in the same job without this illness or disability. That's called a disability
  • The wage cost subsidy is intended for employees who are familiar with the Participation Act, are listed in the target group register and are entitled to a job agreement
  • The wage cost subsidy is linked to the statutory minimum wage. The wage cost subsidy can never exceed 70% of the statutory minimum wage
  • The employee receives at least the minimum wage
  • You only pay for someone's wage value. That is the amount of work that the employee can actually perform. The government pays the rest of the salary. The wage cost subsidy therefore reimburses the difference between the wage value and the statutory minimum wage
  • A wage value expert determines the wage value of the employee at the workplace. The expert is appointed by the municipality

What do you have to do

  • You can apply for the wage cost subsidy at the municipality where the employee is registered
  • If your employee lives in Hilversum, please send an email to loonkostensubsidie@hilversum.nl
    • You will be sent an application form

After your request

  • Once you have submitted the application form and all the requested documents, the municipality will make a decision as soon as possible. This will take up to 8 weeks
  • We'll call you if your application is rejected, or if we have any questions to help us make a decision
  • You will receive the decision in an email
  • If you do not agree with the decision, you can to object
