Help at your home

You want to continue living at home, but you need help with this. The municipality will work with you to examine what solutions are available, such as help from the Social Support Act (Wmo).

What do you need to know

  • There are many solutions that you can arrange yourself, without permission from the municipality. On the web page live independently at home for longer read more about that
  • If this help is not sufficient, you may be able to get help from the Wmo. The help you receive varies per situation. The Wmo consultant will discuss with you which help best suits your situation. Examples of help from the Wmo are:
    o Assistance at home, for example help with household tasks or support in planning and structuring your day
    o Daytime activities
    o Aids, such as a stair lift, Wmo taxi, mobility scooter or wheelchair
    o (Temporary) living in a sheltered living environment with assistance
  • You can bring someone with you to the meeting with the Wmo consultant, such as a family member or neighbor. You can also request free professional assistance during the meeting. This is called client support. In Hilversum, you can contact MEE close by

What do you have to do

What it costs

  • If you receive help from the Social Support Act, you usually have to pay yourself. This is called a personal contribution. It CAK calculates your own contribution
  • It does not matter what your income is, how much help you get, what the help costs or how many people in the household receive Wmo
  • The personal contribution is a fixed amount of a maximum of € 21,00 per month per household
  • The personal contribution for sheltered housing depends on income and assets
  • If you also receive care from the Long-term Care Act (Wlz), then you do not have to pay a personal contribution for the Wmo
