Free bus travel for those aged 67 and over

Do you only receive an AOW (state pension) or a small pension and live in Hilversum? Then you can travel for free on the Transdev bus! This makes it easy to get around, meet people, and stay active. The scheme is valid in 2025 and 2026.

What do you need to know

The free bus rides apply to all Transdev buses in Hilversum and in the Gooi en Vechtstreek region:

  • On weekdays after 9.00:XNUMX am
  • All day on weekends and public holidays
  • The scheme is valid on all Transdev buses in the Gooi en Vechtstreek region. These are the lines: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 100, 104, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 200, 221, 320, 321 and N32.

Terms & conditions

  • You live in Hilversum
  • You are 67 years or older
  • Your income is a maximum of 130% of the social assistance standard. The exact amounts can be found on the page Assistance standard and power limit
  • The scheme is valid in 2025 and 2026

What do you need?

  • Your details: name, address and date of birth
  • A photo that meets the following requirements:
    o You are clearly recognizable in the photo 
    o Show only the face
    o Show the entire head with the entire face: chin, mouth, nose, eyes and eyebrows must be clearly visible, even with head covering
    o Do not wear sunglasses
    o Photo format: jpeg or png

With a paper application, you don't need to submit the photo yet. You will receive a letter from Mybility later with a personal application form and the photo explanation.

What do you have to do

You can apply for the public transport pass in 2 ways:

  1. Apply directly online with DigiD
  2. Applying with a paper form 

Apply directly online with DigiD

Step 1  

Fill in the application form and upload your photo. You can log in via DigiD.

Step 2

The municipality checks the information and sends the application to Mybility, which processes it on behalf of Transdev. 

Step 3

You will receive a public transport pass with the Dal Vrij 65+ pass in the mail. You can then immediately use the free bus rides. Your pass is valid until December 31, 2026. 

Applying with a paper form

You can also apply for the public transport pass using a paper application form.

You can use this form:

  • Pick up at the city office and social square or
  • Download via the button below and print it out yourself

Complete the form, sign it and:

  • Hand it in at the city office or social square, or
  • Send it by mail to the municipality of Hilversum. You can send it to the following address:

      PO Box 9900, 1201 GM Hilversum

Once we receive this form, we will register your information in Mybility's system. Mybility will then create and send your public transport passes. 

You will then automatically receive a letter from Mybility with:

  • A personal application form
  • Explanation about the passport photo
  • A reply number to send your photo for free
