If you live in Hilversum and do voluntary work or are an informal carer, you are automatically insured through the municipality. This insurance is free. If you have a claim, fill in the Centraal Beheer claim form.
What do you need to know
The municipality of Hilversum has a volunteer insurance from the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG) closed at Central Management. This insurance is for all volunteers and carers from Hilversum. If you do voluntary work, you are automatically insured. The insurance covers many types of damage that can occur while volunteering.

For example, you are:
- Informal caregiver
- Volunteer at a sports association or culture club
- Volunteer at a nursing home or hospital
- Reading parent at a primary school or at the library
- Collector (someone who raises money for a good cause)
- Trainee at an association, foundation or institution must have a social interest
- Young person entering a project social service (MDT) doing
Terms & conditions
- You don't get paid for the work you do
- You are not a volunteer with the fire brigade or police
- The damage is not insured with another insurance policy

What do you have to do
If you have damage, follow the following steps:
- Download it claim form volunteer insurance from Centraal Beheer (pdf, 96KB)
- Fill out the form on your computer
- Mail the completed form and document(s) with proof to volunteers@hilversum.nl
- Put in the subject: 'Returned digital claim form volunteers'
Send along
Always send:
- Evidence from the volunteer organization that the damage occurred during the volunteer work
Sometimes send:
- Evidence that the damage is not insured elsewhere
- Receipt of the items that have been damaged
- Evidence of the cost to repair the damage
- Photos of the damage
- Liability of the volunteer organization. It states what happened, what damage there is, that you are responsible for it and what you need to do to resolve the damage

You are automatically and free of charge insured for the volunteer insurance if you live in the municipality of Hilversum.
