Report changes and holidays

You will receive a social assistance benefit. Please notify us of any changes in your situation. For example, if you start working, move, divorce or go on holiday. This can cause your benefit to be higher or lower. You also pass on changes in the situation of your partner or children.

What do you need to know

  • Report changes at the latest within 2 weeks after it takes effect
  • If you are going on holiday, please report this at the latest 4 weeks before your holiday
     
  • Administrators can communicate changes for clients online. For this they have eRecognition level 2+ required

Examples of changes

Below are situations that you must report if you are on social assistance.

Work and Income

  • You or your partner will work: full-time or part-time
  • You or your partner are going to do an internship, volunteer work or odd jobs
  • You or your partner will receive or pay alimony
  • You or your partner receive income from pension or commutation

Living

  • Someone comes to live with you or a resident leaves (cost sharer)
  • You have had a child
  • Your adult child (18 years or older) will live on its own or come to live with you
  • You or your partner live (temporarily) in an institution. For example, a nursing home or sheltered living

Holiday or temporarily living at another address

  • You are going on holiday or you are going to live at a different address temporarily
    • Always ask for permission at least 4 weeks before you travel. If you do not request permission, you will have to repay part of your benefit. And you can be fined. Your benefits may also be stopped
    • You may not be abroad for more than 28 days a year. We add up all the times you were abroad. If you go above that, your benefit will stop. Weekends also count. The day of departure does not count. The day of coming back counts
    • If you go to another place in the Netherlands, you do not have to adhere to the maximum of 28 days. You must continue to live in Hilversum and be available for reintegration (return to work). Always discuss this in advance with your contact person at Social Square

Possess

  • Your wealth (possession) grows. For example, you or your partner receive an inheritance or other gift. Whether you win a lottery or gambling game
  • You or your partner have bought or sold a car, boat or house

Study

  • You or your partner start a study
  • You or your partner receive a student grant
  • Your adult child (18 years or older) starts or stops a study
  • Your roommate is going to study or stops studying

Bank details

  • Your bank account number changes
  • There is a new bank account number in the family
