Low income health insurance

If you have a low income, you may be able to participate in the health insurance of the municipality of Hilversum. This is a basic health insurance with an extra (additional) health insurance for residents of the municipality. This health insurance policy has a lower deductible, extensive cover and extra reimbursements.

What do you need to know

  • It's by law required to have basic health insurance
  • Supplementary health insurance is not required by law
  • The health insurance of the municipality of Hilversum always includes additional insurance
  • The health insurance of the municipality of Hilversum is included insurer DSW
  • Take a good look at whether health insurance is the best choice for you. Sometimes it is cheaper to find out a (supplementary) insurance policy yourself. For example, if you are healthy and make little use of care, such as physiotherapy

Terms & conditions

  • You live in the municipality of Hilversum and are also registered here
    • If you move to another municipality, the health insurance through the Hilversum municipality will end immediately. You may then be able to switch to the insurance of the municipality you are moving to
  • You have an income of up to 130% of the assistance standard that applies to you
    • If your income increases during the year, the health insurance will end on 1 January of the following year
  • You do not have any arrears in the payment of the health insurance you currently have

Benefits

  • Insurer DSW always accepts you, without a medical examination
  • The municipality contributes to your premium. This is not reflected in the premium. The municipality pays this to the insurer DSW.
  • The compulsory excess is €375 instead of €385
  • You can pay the excess in 10 installments. If you want this, notify DSW before February 1. You can use your healthcare allowance for this. If you do not (fully) use the excess, you will receive this amount back in April of the following year
  • There are additional reimbursements from the supplementary insurance. For example, for the dentist and the personal contribution for home care Wmo (CAK)

Choose insurance

  • Basic insurance + AV Standard: if you have low healthcare costs
  • Basic insurance + AV-Top: if you are chronically ill or, for example, need extra physiotherapy

What do you have to do

  1. Op Healthy Insured view the costs, reimbursements and policy conditions of the insurance policies
  2. You then compare the health insurance you currently have with our health insurance
  3. If you want to switch to health insurance, you can register immediately. You do this before 31 December
  4. The health insurance you have at that time will be canceled by the health insurance
  5. You can also cancel your own health insurance yourself before 31 December. Then you can take out a new health insurance policy until 1 February
