As a victim of the benefits affair, there are several ways to get help
Help from the tax authorities
The Tax and Customs Administration provides compensation to the parents who are victims of the benefits affair. To receive the compensation you must register register with the tax authorities. They will review your application and determine whether you are entitled to compensation.
Child(arrangement)
Not only parents, but also children and young people can have problems because of the benefits affair. That is why the government has started implementing the child scheme. This provides children and young people with practical help and an amount of money. More information about this can be found on the website about the child scheme of the tax authorities.
Help from the municipality
If you, as a parent or child, are affected by the problems with the childcare allowance, you can get help from the municipality. This is called broad support. We can help you with:
- Get an overview of your money and money matters
- See what help is needed to improve your home situation
- Look for job or training opportunities
- Passing on your private debts
- Supporting the discussions with the Implementation Organization for Recovery Benefits (UHT) of the Tax and Customs Administration
- Referral to specialist help with other care providers
- Listening to your story to see what help is needed
During a conversation we look at what help you need. Together with you, the municipality draws up an action plan to make a new start. The municipality does not give money or items
What do you have to do
You have several options.
Abused parent
- If you have been affected by the benefits affair but have not yet reported this, please report this to the Tax and Customs Administration. You can register until December 31, 2023 register on the website of the Tax and Customs Administration
- If you indicate during the registration with the Tax and Customs Administration that you would like help from the municipality, they will pass on your details to us. We will contact you by phone. You can also contact yourself via allowanceenaffair@hilversum.nl
Child of victimized parents
- Most children and young people who are entitled to the child scheme automatically receive a letter with more information. Registration is not necessary
- Registration of your child is required in 3 cases. On the Ministry of Finance website read when registration is required
