What do you need to know
If you have been recognized by the tax authorities as a victim of the childcare allowance affair, the municipality is ready to help you. We offer the following assistance:
- Help with contact with the Tax Authorities
- Finding solutions for debt
- Investigate opportunities for work or education
- Providing support for health and psychological problems
- Provide help to your family
During a personal conversation we will look at what kind of help you need. We offer customized help. Together we will ensure that you can make a new start. The municipality does not provide money or supplies.
Assistance from the central government
Child(arrangement)
Not only parents, but also children may have problems due to the benefits affair. That is why the government has started the child scheme. With this, children receive practical help and a sum of money. More information about the child scheme can be found at the Tax Authorities.
Surviving dependants' arrangement
The survivors' scheme is there to ensure that the allowance partner and children of the deceased applicant can continue with the help and support. This arrangement is also there for the surviving relatives of deceased children.
Compensation registration closed
As a parent you can no longer register for compensation and assistance for victims of childcare allowance. This was possible until December 31, 2023.
What do you have to do
There are various possibilities:
Affected parent or ex-partner
If you indicated that you wanted help from the municipality when you registered with the Tax Authorities, they will pass on your details to us. We will then contact you by telephone. You can also contact us yourself via allowanceenaffair@hilversum.nl.
Child of affected parent
- If, as a child, you have family problems, money worries or other concerns as a result of the benefits affair, you can also contact the municipality's special team. You can register via application form child scheme allowance affair
- Most children who are entitled to the government's child scheme will automatically receive a letter with more information. Registration is not necessary
- In some cases, registration is required. You can check whether this applies to you at the Ministry of Finance
