You have passed your driving test. You are applying for a driving license for the first time. Congratulations! We look forward to seeing you at the city office to apply for your driver's license (Oude Enghweg 23). Or you want to exchange your foreign driving licence. Make an appointment before you come by.
What do you need to know
- You can apply for your first driving license in person at the counter of the Municipal Office
- You make an appointment for this
- After 5 working days you can pick up your driver's license in person
Not yet 18 years old
Then ask first companion pass to the RDW before applying for a driving licence. It is not necessary to bring the supervisor pass to the municipality.
Urgent request
- Apply for the driving license before 13.00 p.m. and use the urgent application
- You can pick up your driver's license after 2 working days from 11.00 a.m
- You have to pay more for an urgent request
Exchange foreign driver's license
- you can your exchange foreign driver's license
- The costs are the same as a new driver's license
- An urgent request is not possible

Pack
- 1 passport photo. NB the requirements for a passport photo

To exchange a foreign driving licence, you should also bring the following:
- Your valid foreign driver's license
- Valid residence permit (not necessary if you come from a country of the EC, EEA or Switzerland)
- Declaration of eligibility (if you have one)
- Letter tax 30% ruling (if you have this)
- Money (pin or cash)
Pick up
- To collect your driver's license, you make a Appointment. Please bring your appointment confirmation with you when you pick up. You can use the paper version or the pick-up message on your phone
- You must pick up your new driver's license at the City Office within 3 months
- After 3 months we have to throw away your driving license. You will not get your money back
