In 2017, the municipalities of Gooise Meren, Hilversum and Laren bought the 40 hectare Crailo area from the province of North Holland. In the future, homes and businesses will be built in the area and there is mainly room for nature.
The project
- The area is located in the woods and heath between Hilversum and Bussum. Crailo is located near the A1 highway, making the area easily accessible
- Building is energy neutral. This means that all the energy a building needs and what the residents use, is generated in the neighborhood itself. This also includes the energy required for electric transport
- The project is expected to be completed in 2029
