The municipality of Hilversum uses your personal data in the performance of its tasks and obligations. You have the right to the municipality of Hilversum to handle your data carefully and confidentially. That is laid down in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and in the GDPR Implementation Act (UAVG).

The controller

The administrative bodies of the municipality are each responsible for the processing of personal data in accordance with the applicable privacy legislation. The administrative bodies of the municipality include the Mayor, the College of Mayors and Aldermen (Board of B&W), the Municipal Council and the Court of Audit.

Data Protection Officer

Processing of personal data

The municipality of Hilversum has legal duties and obligations. In order to be able to perform those tasks and obligations, it is necessary to use personal data. For example, when you apply for proof of identity or move. We can also process your personal data for topics such as benefits, safety and care.

The municipality of Hilversum processes various types of personal data, in particular of residents and visitors of Hilversum. These are, for example, name, date of birth, place of birth, address details, contact details, financial details and citizen service number.

The municipality needs this personal data, for example:

It is also possible that we need special personal data and/or criminal data. This is, for example, data that can say something about your health, your political preferences, etc. We only do this if this is permitted by law.

We also process the personal data of all residents of Hilversum in the context of the Basic Registration of Persons Act (BRP). Retention of personal data

The municipality of Hilversum does not store your personal data for longer than is (legally) necessary for the purpose for which your data is used. In a number of cases, your data will be kept longer on the basis of the Archives Act.

Share with others

We may collaborate with organizations to perform our duties and responsibilities. This can be other government bodies, but sometimes also private parties. In certain cases, we share your personal data with those organizations.

We conclude an agreement with organizations that require your personal data on our behalf. As a result, we ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data.

Profiling and automated decision-making

It may be necessary for some tasks of the municipality to use profiles of people. The municipality of Hilversum is transparent about this, unless there are interests that oppose this. Automated decision making only takes place when an employee has reviewed the decision.

Security

The municipality of Hilversum takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access and other unwanted actions with personal data. We do this in accordance with the applicable government security standards, the Government Baseline Information Security (BIO). Rights

You have the right to view, correct or in certain cases have your personal data removed. You can request in writing. In any case, the municipality will respond to the request within 4 weeks. It is important that you can identify yourself and demonstrate that the data you want to view, correct or delete is yours. You are not allowed to view data of other persons.
