Towing car

Your parked car will be towed away if it causes danger or nuisance. To collect your car, you must make an appointment by telephone with Collewijn Berging BV in Utrecht. After payment you will get your car back.

What do you need to know

  • Your car has been towed away by a salvage company Collewijn Berging BV
  • You must pick up your car at Proostwetering 3 in Utrecht within 81 days. You can make an appointment for this with the salvage company via (030) 753 91 11 (available day and night)
  • If your car has not been towed away by the recovery company, please contact the police at (088) 088 74 74 or you do digital declaration
  • If your car has been damaged by being towed away, please contact Collewijn Berging BV
  • Car wrecks, trailers, scooter wrecks and other vehicles are towed away by Van Rijn & Co in Ankeveen. For collection, please make an appointment with Van Rijn & Co via (035) 656 16 21 (available day and night)

To object

If you do not agree with the municipality's decision to tow your vehicle, you can submit a digital objection.

You can also send an objection by post. In this letter you write why you do not agree with our decision. You will receive the decision from the recovery company after payment.

You must submit a notice of objection within 6 weeks of the date of receipt of the decision. The notice of appeal must state the following:

  • Your name and address
  • Date (the date on which the objection was signed)
  • Description of the decision with which you disagree
  • Reason why you disagree with decision
  • Your signature

Take to appointment

  • Valid ID
    • You can also give someone written permission to collect the car for you. This person must then bring their own proof of identity and a copy of your proof of identity
  • Registration certificate part 1B
  • Registration certificate in the name of the company or lease company:
    • You must have a statement from the license plate holder stating that you are the driver of the car
    • If the license plate number is in someone else's name, you must bring a copy of proof of identity and permission (authorization) with that person's signature
  • Car key
  • Debit card or cash
  • After payment you will receive the car
