Introduction of the digital disabled parking card (GPK)

Starting Monday, March 16, 2026, parking with a disabled parking permit will change in Hilversum. Want to park for free in paid parking spaces? Then you'll need to use the digital disabled parking permit (GPK) via the Parkeren Plus app. Simply placing your physical GPK behind your windshield will no longer be sufficient to park for free in paid parking spaces.

Car not registered in name

If you have a lease car, rental car or temporary replacement vehicle, the license plate number does not match your address. In that case, please fill in the license plate authorization form .

Authorization BSN

The GPK holder can authorize someone to use the Parkeren Plus app on their behalf. If the municipality of Hilversum has issued the GPK – as stated on the physical GPK – you can the BSN authorization form to fill in.

What you need to know 

The digital GPK is part of the renewal of the parking system in Hilversum. The municipality aims to make parking easier for users. A digital GPK also helps prevent fraud and misuse of disabled parking permits. For enforcement, this means more efficient and reliable enforcement. In this way, the municipality ensures a clear, fair, and future-proof parking system.

The digital GPK is also useful if you park in other municipalities. More and more municipalities are using the digital GPK from Parkeren Plus. The app shows the parking regulations for each municipality. Please note: in municipalities that don't yet use the digital GPK from Parkeren Plus, you'll need to use the physical GPK.

Longer free parking in Hilversum

With the introduction of the digital parking permit (GPK), the current rule of a maximum of three hours of free parking in paid parking spaces will be abolished. With the digital parking permit, you can park for free for an unlimited period in Hilversum, except in parking garages. What do you have to do

Using the Parkeren Plus app is optional. If you don't want to use the app, you'll pay the standard rate for paid parking starting March 16, 2026. You can also still park for free in general disabled parking spaces with your physical parking pass. You'll need to display your physical pass in the parking window.

Digital disabled parking card (GPK) in Hilversum

  • The municipality of Hilversum uses the digital disabled parking card (GPK) from Parkeren Plus
  • Download the Parkeren Plus app in the Play Store (Android) or App Store (Apple), log in with DigiD and link your license plate to your GPK
  • With the Parkeren Plus app you can park for free in all paid parking spaces in Hilversum, except in parking garages
  • You can also call Parkeren Plus via 085 21 26 190 to start your parking session. This way, you don't always have to use the app. This is only possible after you've installed the app and registered.

License plate authorization

If the vehicle's license plate number does not match the applicant's address, an error message will appear. In that case, the license plate number must be linked manually. This is necessary, for example, when using a lease car, rental car, or temporary replacement vehicle. To do this, enter the license plate authorization form The information you provide will be used exclusively for:

  • linking the license plate to the GPK register via Parkeren Plus
  • the execution of parking rights linked to the digital GPK

Authorization BSN

The GPK holder can authorize someone to use the Parkeren Plus app on their behalf. The authorization is issued by the municipality that issued the GPK. The physical GPK indicates which municipality this is. If the municipality of Hilversum issued the GPK, please fill in the following:BSN authorization form Based on this authorization, we will change the GPK holder's citizen service number in the GPK register to the authorized person's citizen service number (BSN).

Use of the Disabled Parking Card and the Parking Plus app

  • You must continue to use your physical card in general disabled parking spaces
  • The digital GPK is not valid in parking garages
  • Using the Parkeren Plus app is optional. If you don't want to use the app, you'll pay the regular rate for paid parking.
  • If you park in a paid parking space without the Parkeren Plus app, without paying or without a permit, you may receive a fine after March 16, 2026
  • Different rules may apply in other municipalities. You can find the local rules for participating municipalities in the Parkeren Plus app. Non-participating municipalities still use the physical Disabled Parking Card.
