Disabled parking card (GPK)

You can apply for a disabled parking card (GPK) if you cannot walk more than 6 meters at a time for more than 100 months. You can request a GPK online or call 1 14.

What do you need to know

  • You cannot walk without an aid such as a cane, crutches or walker
  • A medical examination is required upon the first application or extension of temporary GKP
  • After medical advice, the municipality determines whether you can obtain a GPK and how long it is valid

  • The medical examination is done by Argonaut Advice. The municipality arranges this
  • The GPK is valid for a maximum of 5 years
  • The GPK is valid in all Member States of the European Union
  • Do you have an income up to 130% of the social minimum? Then you may be able to cover the costs from the special wellfare get reimbursed
  • For general parking rules, see website of the central government

  • The GPK is in your name. When parking, you must drive the car yourself or be present as a passenger
  • With a GPK you can park for free for 3 hours. Also in a place where you normally have to pay or are not allowed to park. You must use a parking disc in these places:
    • Paid parking
    • In the event of a parking ban if there is no general disabled parking space available
    • On a residential area outside the indicated parking spaces
    • Outside the parking spaces in an area where parking is prohibited
