Report clogged sewer

You want to report a sewer blockage. If the blockage is on your own property, engage a company yourself. You do not report to the municipality. Is the blockage in municipal land? Then report it to the municipality.

What do you need to know

To find out whether a sewer blockage is on your own property or in the municipal property, look in your connection pit.

The well is usually behind the boundary about 50 centimeters on your own property and about 50 centimeters below the ground. The location of the well is indicated on the construction drawing of your home. The municipality can also tell you this if necessary. You then call the public space department: 14 035

What do you have to do

  • There is water in the connection well: the blockage is in the municipal sewer. You report this to the municipality
  • No water in the connection pit: the blockage is on your own property. You can then clear the blockage yourself or engage a company. You pay this yourself

What does it cost

  • Did you not cause the blockage in the municipal land? Then you pay nothing
  • Did you cause the blockage in the municipal land? Then you pay the costs for unblocking
  • You pay for blockage on your own property yourself
