You have lost something or you have found something. On iLost you can look at the lost and found items. If you have found something, post it on iLost. You cannot place passports, identity cards and driving licenses on iLost. These must always be handed in to the municipality. Not with the police.
What do you need to know
You have found something:
- If you found something, post this on iLost. You don't have to go to the police
- If you have found a passport, proof of identity or driving license, you must hand it in to the municipality. Not with the police. Not even via iLost. This to prevent abuse
You have lost something:
- If you've lost something, you can click iLost look at the found objects
- If you passport, ID card of lost driver's license you report this to the municipality You do not have to go to the police
- We can only return driving licenses if the person is registered with the municipality of Hilversum. We will send a letter to the owner
This is what we do with found objects:
- Keys are kept in the key safe at the City Office (Oude Engweg 23) for three months. The keys can be viewed. via iLost
- Bank cards are invalidated (destroyed)
- Dutch passports and identity cards will be invalidated. This is to prevent identity theft
