An energy cooperative is an idea of residents who work together with sustainable energy. Hilversum has 3 energy cooperatives:
- HilverSun for solar roofs with a group of residents (collective), energy saving advice, neighborhood activities, sustainable electricity and gas and sustainable ideas
- Hilversum Energy Transition (HET) for energy-saving campaigns, electric shared cars and construction of solar roofs
- explore for making the Kerkelanden district more sustainable

- Sustainable Homeowners' Association helps the Association of Owners (VvE) to make their apartment building more sustainable
