Introduction
I am Ron Lancé, council member for Hart voor Hilversum. Born and raised in Hilversum, I think that if you have something to grumble about in local politics, you should also have the strength to stand up and do something about it. 4 years ago I took the step to make the step to local politics instead of grumbling about what is not going well. A lot is happening in Hilversum and you can influence this in various ways. Having influence also ensures that you can represent the interests of the residents. More importantly, if you do it right, you are the mouth and ears for the residents. I want to be in the driver's seat and not just ride along. Have influence and don't grumble afterwards.
I want to strike the right balance. Between my Hilversum heart, common sense, knowledge and skills, but above all with the ideas of Hilversums of paramount importance. That also means that I always try to safeguard the interests of the residents. Politics is not about egos but about what you can do for Hilversum and its residents. I look for solutions that are best for both Hilversum and the residents. Furthermore, I am pragmatic, not a doomsayer and I see healthy challenges everywhere. That will certainly help me to fulfill my role as a councilor well. In my work I have gained extensive experience in employee participation, as a sounding board for the constituency and as a discussion partner for directors. That is valuable baggage for me as a Council member. Of course I hope to learn a lot about the wishes of Hilversummers and about the political game.
Motivation
If we do it right, we can turn our Hilversum into something incredibly beautiful for the next generation of Hilversum residents. The station area, the Kerkbrink, 1221, all projects that will determine the future of Hilversum. Of course this is something for the long term, but the current coalition will lay the foundations. This coalition is responsible for the blueprint and that's something I think is really cool. That also means that as a councilor you have to take your responsibility. Finally, as a council member you make decisions about an environment in which your children and grandchildren will soon be walking around.
For the next 4 years I will and will dedicate myself to keeping our Hilversum, my Hilversum, liveable. But also safe, beautiful and future-proof. I can't do this alone, we are 37 Councilors who, deep in their hearts, all want the same thing. And yes, sometimes the ideas are a bit apart. Then it is the strength to find each other. The residents also have a big voice in this whole and I like to listen to that too. This is therefore also an invitation to approach me if you want to know things or want to contribute things.
