Introduction
What an honor to represent you in the Hilversum City Council. I am Paul Vonk and I have been living in our beautiful garden village for almost 50 years. In 1974 I moved to the Varenmeent, where I had a wonderful childhood playing football, delivering De Gooi- and Eemlander and especially playing a lot of football. After that I lived almost everywhere in Hilversum. After the Varenmeent on a houseboat in the Derde Havenarm, in the Koningsstraat, the Goudriaanstraat, the Erasmuslaan, the Flamingohof, the Kortenaerlaan and now the Oude Amersfoortseweg. I live in the last street with my family (girlfriend and our 2 children, built in 1999 and 2002). I have also taught in Hilversum since 1995, at the Fabritius School for decades. In my free time I am a big sports fan. As a volunteer and former board member, I am closely involved in the football club SV Olympia'25.
Motivation
We at the SP team Hilversum are committed to all Hilversum residents. We are especially committed to the Hilversum residents who need a home, who have too little money to make ends meet, who want to participate but are unable to do so for all kinds of reasons and who need good care. We are doing everything we can to make the neighborhoods in Hilversum safer and more sustainable and to strengthen the greenery that makes living in Hilversum so attractive.
We know what it means to be stuck in debt, to live in a moldy house, to be dependent on benefits. That is why we will do everything we can to:
- Improve access to the Social Square
- Helping and guiding Hilversum residents who are low literate or who cannot find their way on the internet and social media
- Make good plans for people who need care and work, with one contact person for their problems
- Organize better and more effective care in neighbourhoods
We want the people of the municipality to work well together with care providers, neighborhood workers, youth workers, debt counselors and social organizations that have a connection with Hilversummers. Do you have a question? A problem? Call or email me. I'm happy to represent you.
