Introduction
My name is Harmen Lindeboom. I was built in 1974 and have been living in our beautiful Hilversum since 2001. A long time ago I studied public administration. At the same time, I am also a self-confessed nerd, which means that I often bridge the gap between technology and organization in my work. Although I have been active within the D66 department for some time, for example on the board, this is my first term as a council member. I am optimistic by nature and like to contribute to making our city even better and more beautiful. My focus will be on the subjects of economy, municipal organization, services, privacy and digitization. So do you like that? Email me and we'll talk about it.
Motivation
As a council member I would like to contribute to making our beautiful Hilversum even better. Much is going well, but plenty of things can also be improved. The municipal council has an important role in this, in its executive and supervisory function.
A complicated and fascinating assignment because the municipality is active in so many different subjects. But also because all those different subjects require the necessary knowledge to make the right substantive decision. And then also in such a way that we can explain to you, the voter / resident, why this was the right decision. Because that's important to me.
Politics is often abstract and difficult to follow because as specialists we sit together and have to make complex considerations. That is allowed and is part of it. (That's what an expert, for example a contractor, does when he consults with his colleagues.) But then it has to be explainable to all stakeholders and back to the “normal” world.
I always liked knowing that I could put my interests in the hands of the council members I elected. Actually outsourcing the management of the city to the people who want to free up time and energy for this and are (largely) on the line that I am on. Now I want to do the same for other people. Making the hours and doing the work for the residents of Hilversum, so that they are unburdened and can do other things, but know that it is in good hands with me.
