Introduction
My name is Chris Groeneveld, I live with my family in Hilversum South (Zeeheldenkwartier). I am a born and raised Hilversummer. I am an entrepreneur in the construction/industry sector and mainly work in the Gooi and Krijgstreek region. Since 2020 I have been a committee member for Hart voor Hilversum and now a council member for the upcoming period. People know me as straightforward, transparent and honest. I am a good listener and I am social, I can think quickly and empathize. I am capable of translating practice into policy theory. My experience as an entrepreneur helps me to communicate with all walks of life. I am a positive person and easily approachable, with a lot of energy and I am looking forward to working as a councilor for 'our' Hilversum for the next 4 years.
Motivation
What I want to focus on in the coming period is mainly our entrepreneurs in Hilversum. As an entrepreneur, I can identify well with this group of Hilversum students. Even when entrepreneurs do not live but work in our village, I want to work for this group. I often hear that residents and entrepreneurs run into a wall at the municipality. I would like to connect, be the bridge between the local government and the entrepreneurs and residents. At the service of those residents. I certainly want to include their input in the council, so that practice is included in policy. I would like to see how we as a municipality can stimulate the local economy. Not only by means of information campaigns, but also by introducing a joint policy that encourages more 'local purchasing' for various institutions, large or small. Including, of course, the municipality itself. An important area to be developed is the Zuidwest Business Park with the accompanying 'Circusterrein'. I want to make a passionate effort in the coming years to help modernize this area into an area suitable for the coming decades. In short, a lot to do in this relatively short period.
