Introduction
My name is Carolien Jansson, councilor for Democrats Hilversum. I live in Hilversum East in the Astronomical neighborhood. I have lived there for 35 years with great pleasure, with my partner and dog. Nice on the edge of the heath, with shops and facilities around the corner. I was a committee member from 2020 to 2022. As a committee member you learn a lot about the affairs of the council, you participate in the faction and you can be a spokesperson in committees.
I can put my work experience as a communications advisor and community worker to good use as a council member. I think it is important to express the message of residents. If I want to know something or notice something somewhere, I approach it. This means I quickly know what is going on and what people want in and with their neighborhood and what they think of developments. Council work starts in the neighborhood, in direct contact with Hilversum residents.
Hilversum and my neighborhood are dear to me. I think that enough has been built or is in the pipeline in East. Now is the time to be careful with the public space that remains. I would like to see the municipality's ecological green management further expanded in the coming years. I think initiatives such as the Green Carpet are very nice. My dog and I like to walk a lot in the woods and on the heath. I believe that these areas belong to all of us and we should share them together, with respect for nature.
Motivation
I would like to ensure that participating and thinking along is further developed. The Environmental Act provides scope for this. I think participation is a great asset. I think it's important to reach people you don't hear from or don't hear from very often. I can manage that, as a construction worker I have years of experience with this. I'm also quite persistent, I like to read up on things. Good preparation is half the job. Together with residents and my group, I want to make Hilversum a little nicer place to live.
