Objection to municipal taxes

If you do not agree with the tax assessment or WOZ value, you can object. You do this via the Digital Tax Desk. You can also object by post.

Questions about municipal tax assessments?

Call us 14 035. Now also every Thursday until 17.00 p.m.

What do you need to know

  • You object within 6 weeks of the date on your assessment notice
  • The letter that you write or complete online via the Digital Tax Desk is called a notice of objection
  • Clearly state in the notice of objection why you do not agree with the assessment(s)
  • You must also pay the assessment if you object. You can request deferment of payment for this. You can put this on the objection. You can only be granted a postponement for the amount to which you object. If your objection is correct, we will refund the overpaid amount

WOZ agency is not free

You can object to the WOZ value via an agency. For the assessment and outcome of your objection, it makes no difference whether you or an agency send it. The compensation that the municipality has to pay to these offices costs the municipality a lot of money. Ultimately, all taxpayers pay these costs.

Therefore, please contact us yourself to discuss the WOZ value. This saves government money. If it appears that we have made a mistake in determining your WOZ value, we will adjust it for you free of charge.

Court appeal

If your objection is rejected, you can appeal to the court. You pay a court fee for this. Are you right? Then you will be refunded these costs. You can read how you can appeal in the appendix to the decision on your notice of objection.
